You are in my neck of the woods and I'm in Derby this weekend would have headed over for a pint with you.

And your verdict? Marketing aside 🙂

Aged well 🍺
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Clearly a lot of money has been thrown at this. Pumps, bar mats, glasses etc.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
I mean why wouldn't you. Second cask at The Fox & Pine. Fortunately they will never replicate that smell.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Happy Boddingtons Day to all who celebrate.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #84 The White Hart, Lydgate. Pub, Restaurant, Hotel and Venue. Winner of many awards. Incredible food and decent cask ales. The one that does it all. Picture borrowed from the website.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Catching up after a holiday. Can't believe anyone trusted you with a fridge full of Triple Knot.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Bit of positive pub news. Coach and Horses back open. www.facebook.com/share/p/1Avf...
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
No cask 😁 but I suppose the view makes up for it (a bit) BEERaki Cretan Pub. Drinking Blame The Sun - Beach Bum
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Its happening everybody, its happening! Coming soon at The Fox & Pine.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Older than me that David. Good to see the might Kevin Ashctoft in there.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Definitely not the Fox! Paid £4 for a pint of Tiny Rebel stout they must have seen you coming.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
The artwork for the Oldham Bar Hop is brilliant. Good to see a lot of new faces in town today. Billingtons and The Ashton Arms both very busy.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #83. The Colliers Arms. Despite driving past this place many times, and even visiting a few times, I never realised how big its beer garden was. Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and a Baby Shower was in full swing. No cask though so, Guinness.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Not Oldham, but sat in The Sheep & Penguin in Wells. What a rescue job. Shut pubs don't always stay shut.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Thought the Highfield #11 had seen sense and started selling cask again, then realised it was Cash is King! Not Cask.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
The more you brew the cheaper it can get though. Its sad to see Jaipur on a £1.79 though. What a beer that was.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
I would imagine they can't, but if there wasn't anything in it, why would they sell to Spoons?
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Cracking pint of Acorn Sunmer Pale in Pub #41 The Shay Wake. £1.79 slightly embarrassing.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Saw a Facebook post about it. Went past last week on way back from Rose of Lancaster. Was surprised to see it shut.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Oldham Pubs #4 Up for rent. I have heard there may have been some serious issues with the previous tenant... Chadderton JW Lees pub closed and looking for new landlord | The Oldham Times www.theoldhamtimes.co.uk/news/2528955...
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Watching Loyle Carner on the iplayer, but it was quite the effort. People are complaining about the 1975 headlining but there will be no shortage of simpletons at the main stage. How fo they even work the website to get tickets?
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Anyone figured out how to make the red button play anything that isn't shit? Mine seems to be broken. @glastonburyfestivals.co.uk

Liking the sound of this... www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Saddleworth Whit Friday Band Contest outside the Three Crowns last night. Two Greene King on cask.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
The Council have backed the Cob in the past but there's a lot of mistrust over this new market.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
The Market is closing and moving to a new development. They have put in an offer for the pub but didn't get a space. Oldham want to run the bars themselves as there's a performance space. Don't think they have considered how many people visit Oldham for the Cob and The Fox.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Sad day today as a small but very important part of Oldham's beer scene closes. Very short sighted decision by Oldham Council. Long Live The Cob & Coal. Pub #18.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Buy one get one half price at the local CO OP. Had quite a few recently, a real classic.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Avoided it myself for some time (as with most GK pubs) but my son wanted to go in and see it. Good pint of Theakston OP and a chat with the locals. Been back in a few times since.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
And half term 👍
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
We got a single rumble in Rossendale about half three.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
There's a reason it has such a big car park 👍
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #82 The Dog Inn. A survivor pub having been "tinned up" at one point. Lots of live music in the large bar room. Three empty handpumps but Theakstons Mild on draught.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #81 Boarhurst Band Club. Have been very busy recently but I still have a backlog of Oldham Pubs to get through. I never post live as the spelling and grammar would be atrocious. Here for the beer festival last year. Good to see venues like this thriving.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Saw one over the moors Rossendale way last week. They do well in North Yorkshire but never seen one in Lancashire before.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
The Bank Top Tavern #17 on my list. A fantastic music venue and a huge supporter of new music. www.theoldhamtimes.co.uk/news/2498994...
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Sounds like a tradeshow to me. 4 hours sleep. Luxury.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
On a similar note... Pub #7 Fox & Pine. Fit to burst, fortunately there's enough beer and pastry goods to go round.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Once again every seat taken in Pub #6 The Ashton Arms. Good to see. Pictish, Millstone and Saltaire on cask.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #80 Dobcross Band & Social Club. Locally and nationally recognised by Camra. Visited last year for a beer festival. Home to bands, bowling and a whole host of community activities.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Do I save this for the apocalypse or drink it now. But yeah everything is not OK.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Tried it once at Beer Nouveau but it was too late into the evening to fully appreciate.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
I am in Nottingham again, I called into Brew Cavern beer shop. Good call 😁 #BskyBeer

So sorry to hear Jon. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Take care of yourself.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #79 Angel Inn Lees. Once feared lost after the family that ran it called it a day. Saved by staff and owner of The Red Lion and given a full makeover. Lively pub, busy on my visit with a good mix of patrons. Very fizzy Reliance Pale ale, no cask.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
He was filming the Curious Life film which became a film about Jeremy more than the Levellers. So he toured with them I remember someone saying it was indulgent singing his own song I was like really.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Aldi tried to copy it but thankfully they still sell the original. A classic beer.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Saw Dumston ding this with the Levellers at The Leadmill. Took the roof of the place 🫵
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Many years ago I would finish work at Ena Mill at 10 o'clock run to the Bluebell grab a pint and still make the half ten train to Manchester. Now a vets surgery.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
A pint in The Lion, Atherton. Last time I was in here I had just finished a first aid course at Ena Mill. So some time around 1992.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
A pint with a view. Pack Horse, Affetside. GM Ringway Stage 13.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah I thought that might be kept on but both up for sale.

I was walking down to the Boat and Horses for yet another leaving drinks. Worked in Chadderton for years. We used to go to Owd Tatts on Friday, when we were on Fields New Road.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #78 Washbrook Tavern. Chadderton. Lees pub with a warm welcome. Pint of Lees Bitter on cask. Picture borrowed off Facebook.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
A catch up walk with an old colleague today. Greene King, but the view and the company made up for it.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #77 The Angel Inn, Royton. Popular Lees pub was established over 200 years ago. TV filming location for Life On Mars. Lees Bitter on cask.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
An interesting insight into the bizarre world of Sam Smiths... www.theguardian.com/news/audio/2...
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #76 Duke Of York, Royton. The other Duke in Royton. Lees pub on a busy junction. Used to be neighboured by the Bulls Head sadly now a restaurant. Lees Bitter on cask.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #75 The Clarence, Greenfield. Stonegate pub close to Dovestones. Smart inside, great food menu. Millstone Tiger Rut on cask.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Bought for a @beernouveau.co.uk bottle share that never happened. Was down for a New Year beer but I was hungover. It's very very pleasant. #BskyBeer

They forgot to do the paths around Piethorne today too.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #74 The Royal George. Greenfield Almost in Tameside a refurbished Lees pub with a selection of cask beers. Happy New Year. This year's resolutions, remember to take a picture of the pub every time and remember to post more often.

It was confusing me, as we went up Ripponden Road it was getting brighter. Complete opposite of yesterday.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
@chadweather.bsky.social Above the clouds at Grains Bar today. So many people stopping to take pictures
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Bit of last minute shopping earlier today at The Bottlestop. Good to see the 2024. Not seen harvest since the 2021 release.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
The air fryer is coming with us as well 😁 Merry Christmas to you and yours too.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social) reply parent
Father In Law passed away in summer so it's fallen to us to cook a ludicrously oversized turkey, possibly for the first time ever. Prepping today and taking everything to my dad's tomorrow. Four cats demanding tasters already.

Or in the pub 👍

Nice visit to We Are Wolf Brewing yesterday. Roaring fire a must for a Saddleworth brewtap.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #73 The Spinners Arms, Springhead. Lees pub tucked away on a quiet lane. Usual Lees food menus. Boilerhouse pale on cask.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Revisit pub #7 The Ashton Arms. Best Espresso Martini in Oldham. 2 for £10. The cask is on point as always.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Strive mightily but eat and drink as friends. The window of a former Oldham Pub.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #72 Three Crowns, Austerlands Large roadside inn and another band contest regular. Recently taken over by the team behind the nearby Spinners. So expect good things. Pint of Landlord on cask.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
End of yesterday's walk from Uppermill to Newhey. The Bird In Hand. Known locally as the top bird as there is another Bird in Hand (sadly closed) a very short walk away on the same road. Not an Oldham pub but pleasant enough with a real fire and friendly locals. Sam Smiths pub so yeah.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Revisit to Pub #10 The Junction Denshaw. Pint of Lees MPA. Called in for a pit stop on yesterday's walk.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Inspecting the contents of my delivert to make sure all is in good order.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Pub #71 The Kings Arms, Grains Bar. Perilously close to the Yerkshire border. This foody pub has cask and keg options. I certainly wouldn't expect to see @LaineBrewCo up here. It tends to look closed as the entrance is round the back.
Oldham Pubs (@oldhampubs.bsky.social)
Going to carry on were I was on Twitter and may e revisit some of the pubs rather than start over....
