Think about things like the aviation safety record in places like Russia, food safety in places like Mexico (when was the last time you had to worry about eating and drinking fresh food products in the U.S.?), etc. I will take time for that to erode, but that’s certainly the direction we are going.
Just wait for the insidious effects of cuts to government safety inspections take hold. Cuts to things like food and aviation safety inspections and other regulatory work might not have an immediate impact, but will certainly erode safety margins over time.
I think some of the MAGA federal employees are starting to find that out. The only good thing about the return to office order will be watching the MAGAs being forced into the office realize that elections have consequences.

Seems like these questions should get asked, particularly in light of how the sale of this 5G bandwidth by the FCC was pushed by the administration back in 2018 over the objections of the FAA and the airline industry.
While the FAA did issue airworthiness directives for commercial aircraft to address 5G interference on radio altimeters, was the Army helicopter subject to the same requirements? Could that be behind the altimeter discrepancies being reported? No idea, but something to think about.
