The issue with appointments isn't really our system setup, though that is a huge problem, but that we have a lack of providers. We quite literally don't have enough staff and are hemorrhaging staff yealy. Even if we swapped systems, wait times would not improve.

Certainly not a magic bullet, but easy enough I think for most Americans to digest and would move the idea of what is acceptable in healthcare administration to something a little more palatable to make way for future changes.
We have the same, if poorer level of "coverage." The Netherlands has better health outcomes, their base plan which covers the same thing Medicaid covers here. We don't practice "preventative" care as a health system.
Have you ever looked into the Netherlands health insurance system and their outcomes? They still employ private insurance, but basic necessities are taken care of by a low tax and everyone is covered. Private plans are heavily regulated. I think it would be a relatively easy transition for us.
