The savanna is dying. This year no rains came at all. We were once regenerators but now our seedlings shrivel in the ground. Only the sagebrush is hanging on. Even the wind is fallen silent. My eyes are so water-parched I dream of the ocean night after night. By day my tears water the barren earth.

Timeline cleanse 😁 I live on 8 acres in a pocket of more sparsely developed, unincorporated county land surrounded by city. There's a family of deer that have used this land and our neighborhood as a safe island. So most days I get a visit from the neighbors just outside my office window.

When I first tried fresh asparagus I couldn’t believe it was the same foodstuff.

When the therapist asked, “Do you have any smell aversions?” during my ASD assessment, the only smell I could think of was canned asparagus. It was considered a fancy food in Australia during the early 80s and used to stink out our whole house on special occasions. That shite is rank.

First time visiting Violet here but it feels familiar. Still I have trouble finding her; I’m bad with maps and too shy to ask directions. Finally there she is, at the end of a shady avenue. I light the cupcake candle, place it on her grave and stay till it goes out. She’d have been seventeen today.

Once I was watching on my laptop with headphones and my flatmate said, “Are you okay? You’re breathing really rapidly.” I’ll leave to conjecture which scene had this effect.
I was just randomly thinking about Barry yesterday! I may be in the minority in thinking that the season finale is the natural culmination point of the story, and makes a statement about America that is much bigger than the sum of the story’s parts.
