The fox arrived at the zoo last week from the Bird Alliance of Oregon, which had been caring for her since mid-October. Staff there determined she had been kept as a pet, which is illegal in Oregon. Because of her upbringing, she would not be able to survive in the wild.

Lincoln was found stranded—rescuers from @montereyaq.bsky.social estimated he was less than 2 weeks old at the time. Unable to be paired with a surrogate mom, he was deemed non-releasable by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and moved to his home at the Oregon Zoo to reign as the Prince of Sea Pups
