We've had a covid 'bombing' this year . 2025. Starting with Rooks now with the more musical Jackdoors. Havent seen the usual Buzzards gliding around ,may have had something to do with the crowds/murders

17 common spotted orchids delighted us, this our 5th year of allowing the front lawn to naturalise. Soil - clay, bit of loam, slightly acid . Rattle ,Birds foot trefoil, Knapweeds, Black Mediks, Carrot , Yarrow etc. buzzing insects going about their business. Grasshoppers soon

A good time for these hopefully this year. Plenty in our garden males and now females. Also hedge garlic is very prolific this year. They have also been enjoying the honesty flowers.

Ha ha! We had one of these shiney ones for a short while before its lid lifting mechanism died. Recycled at the local council dump!
This has warmth in it, although the rays of a low late sun were lighting the snow. Maybe followed by one of those pink sunset winter evenings.
