Combos are dummy easy to maintain. I still felt that keeping up in crew battles was enough of a challenge, but yeah, just casually cranking out 1,000,000+ point combos was a cinch.
PandaMonium (@pandamonium.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s what I had to do. Played when it came out, got distracted by something else. Two years later, I was able to just start over and run through it in about a week. Great game.

It was underrated. If you strip away the MMO elements, they made a great base game and a fantastic world.

That’s cool to hear your dad was in the biz! What station(s) if I may ask?
PandaMonium (@pandamonium.bsky.social) reply parent
The station I work at now does not provide me with a clothing stipend. My previous station did though, $1,000 per year as long as I got them from the store they had an ad deal with. I just use those now. Got a decent amount! Strict dress code though. All blacks, greys and navy blues.

Thank you Kyle! It has very thin blue stripes on it. I have another from the same company with subtle purple stripes.

Pixeled Arcade and Brewing in Fargo ND is closing down today. It is easily one of the best modern arcades I have ever been to, with 60+ well maintained machines. The footage of me & Tit0 playing NBA Jam TE in my video was shot there by Jordan Ryan. Sad that it’s going away. youtu.be/FcwjgnaQXXU?...

I just watched it in full last week, it was a great video. Such a good illustration of the role women protagonists had (have) in games. The DK rap bit also had me rolling. People getting bent in the comments proves your point is still relevant today lol

This is very unrelated, but the N64 childhood memories reminded me of this story. When I was a kid, I had these weird dreams about animals in a space farm. They had these weird looking dogs and other trippy things. Then in like, 2022, I played Space Station Silicon Valley. It was the dream!!!

Hung up on a relatively recent discussion on retro game nostalgia and wanted to share two of my cents. Nowadays, we have robust emulation, flash carts, ODEs, online modes of old games, decomps, proto leaks, easy-to-find niche communities, and new similarly styled games. I do not want to "go back."

It may be. For example, I did notice a warmer reception to NFTs on the Japanese side for a little while after the western online space started rejecting them. Not defending the use of genAI here, but it may not have the widespread distaste that it has in English speaking spaces.
