That was what we first tried a couple years ago! Went out to talent hoping it would lead to financing. Got some interest, but no commitments. Producer has managed to get some financiers excited though, so they’ve given us an initial round of funding to attach talent. Still need to secure the rest!🤞🏻
An excellent reminder. And after months of nothing, I just got a call yesterday that a feature I wrote three years ago now has some financing to go out to talent. Fingers crossed!

This is similar to what JPIII was (supposedly) originally going to be - Feds investigate a series of murders along the Pacific Coast, discover it’s actually a raptor that escaped from the ship at the end of Lost World. Kind of a Predator 2 sort of deal. Seems like a smart approach, would watch.

I think I actually have read a description of what they do before, somewhere. From my vague memory: big blue button puts the suit in an auto function mode, red button is a manual override. I think the others were for temp control and pain management. So kinda like a mini med-suite

Finally saw SINNERS last night and it was every bit as good as everyone said. What a blast! Then I followed it up by watching the Twilight Zone episode The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank, which Coogler stated was a big influence on the film. And honestly, what an awesome pairing. Highly recommend!

Though ultimately I agree with you that the format feels less resonant in many ways than a theatrical film. Don’t really know what the solve for that is
I knew what was coming, so I didn’t really feel any emotional weight from the events until episode 3. I really enjoyed ep2, but the catharsis of those moments are all in the still moments of the first half of ep3. Which I think ultimately works as a sort of “coming down” from the adrenaline/chaos

That’s what I’ve heard from others as well! And yeah, I’m having that issue with Capaldi. I enjoy him in the role well enough, but his storylines feel like a slog. I’ve seen up through The Husbands of River Song, so I think only one Capaldi season left to go.
I dropped off in the Capaldi era and still need to catch up. But I’m thinking I might just jump to Gatwa’s first season and do those first to support the new stuff as it’s airing. But I also really wanna see Whittaker’s era so I’m torn 😅

This is, I think, what’s been hitting me the hardest about everything lately. So many people I once admired and looked up to, now completely without principles. And for what? A little more money in the bank? Gross.
It wasn’t just one thing. But what really clinched it for me was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In undergrad, I wrote a thesis on the poststructuralist gender and identity roles in the series, which led me to a whole font of feminist literature. I found Gender Trouble by Butler especially impactful.
It truly disgusts me. I loved the books, was the same age as Harry was in them as they each came out. Probably impacted me in more ways than I know. To use all that privilege and wealth she built to hurt innocents is the most Death Eater shit I can think of
