This ended up being a great recommendation, and I wish it had been around thirty years ago, but I'm glad to read it now. It definitely does a good job of balancing anecdotes with clear explanations + a narrative path on how we think about, well, "proof".

I think for the better part of a year, some years ago, I queued up "There She Goes, My Beautiful Work" each day as I exited the train for the walk to work, just for the lift...such a great album end to end.
