You're not missing much tbh. Leaving aside the ahistorical nonsense (Harold and William the B having baths next to each other?!?!), it's just not a great drama. On episode 3, watching with my better half who DGAF about the accuracy but loves a good historical drama and she thinks it's poor.

Starmer’s next speech should be: “Sorry if I haven’t been clear, but Nigel Farage is a vicious, dog-whistling racist who in any sane country would not be anywhere near the reins of power. We utterly reject his racism, his fascism, his plans to turn this country into a far-right fantasy.”

Just in case people are unclear, putting 'hundreds of thousands' of human beings into camps is fucking evil. Are we all clear on that? You know when we talk about those lines before which we shouldn't draw parallels, this is one of those lines. This is evil, Farage is a fascist. These truths matter.

It's important to assume that Reform in Government would indeed try to do this. The right thing is not to tell the public that this won't happen - so they can therefore vote for Reform without guilt - but rather that a vote for Reform is a vote for the suffering of hundreds of thousands of people.

Her daughter wears a red poncho. On the right is a standing man and on the left an old man sitting wrapped in a blanket. In the distance are mounds, pit houses, cacti and mountains. I wrote this in Jan '24 after reading posts on that bloody listerv. I am disappointed to see that this old post is still very relevant. Free Palestine, FFS ancientalexandra.weebly.com/blog/what-is...

That's really disappointing - that's quite clearly not a Roman legionary T-shirt, the breastplate is all wrong

So sorry to hear this. Don't know you (aside from social media) and obviously don't know your dog, but I do know the deep bonds we grow with our animal companions and the hurt when that is lost. RIP.

Yes, thankfully. We (dog and I) normally run round Liddington at the weekend but it was a quick (well, quick for us!) 5k and back round the park this Sunday. Fortunately I have a couple of days off this week so we were able to do our Liddington run this morning in a much more forgiving climate!

NEW: The death shadow cast by Musk. “When U.S.-supported soup kitchens were forced to close, babies starved quietly, their mothers said, while older siblings died begging for food.” The world’s richest man did this to the world’s poorest children. Don’t ever forget.

And on it goes. Israeli politicians using UK media to stoke up outrage around Bob Vylan & Kneecap must be laughing their heads off at how easy it all is. I think this brings the Palestinian death toll *since the Glastonbury performance* in to triple figures. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

If you had some knowledge of the Everton-777 situation and understood a bit about the Reading-Dai Yongge chaos but you haven't read anything in the papers about Morecambe's plight the last few years, ask yourself why not. Why is it that we're letting this club die? Does every team not matter?

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.” It costs a lot less to house people.
