Here is the section of the policy in question, with the discrepancies between the old and new versions highlighted:

(discrepancies in brackets) OLD NWSL EXTREME HEAT POLICY: … During the Delay a. Similar to a severe weather delay, the match will not start or resume until it is safe to do so as outlined by the procedures below. b. The Fourth Official will take another WBGT measurement 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the match. [Follow the same procedure as above, should the WBGT reading meet or exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit.] • If the WBGT temperature reads below 92.3 degrees Fahrenheit, warm-ups may begin. c. [Following the reading 15 minutes prior to the start of the match, should the delay continue, a WBGT measurement will be taken every 30 minutes at the kickoff spot,] until it is deemed safe to play, below 92.3 degrees Fahrenheit, or until such time has passed that the League decides to postpone the match. [• In the event a WBGT measurement is below the 92.3 degrees Fahrenheit threshold by 1 degree (i.e., 91.3 degrees Fahrenheit), it will be the Fourth Official in conjunction with the home club’s Team Physician with feedback from visiting team medical personnel, operations, officials and both technical staffs, to make the ultimate decision if and when play is allowed to resume.] NEW NWSL EXTREME HEAT POLICY: … During the Delay A. Similar to a severe weather delay, the match will not start or resume until it is safe to do so as outlined by the procedures below. B. The Fourth Official will take another WBGT measurement 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the match. ○ If the WBGT measurement reads < 92.3°F/33.5°C, warm-ups may begin. ○ [If the WBGT reading continues to be ≥92.3°F/33.5°C, the match will continue to be delayed.] C. [A WBGT measurement will then be taken every 15 minutes at the kickoff spot, until it is deemed safe to play], < 92.3°F/33.5°C, or until such time has passed that the League decides to postpone the match.

excerpt from The Athletic: “I said, ‘Gianni, do [the announcement] by phone, you don’t have to come,’” Trump said. “He said, ‘No, I’ll come, I’ll come.’ And he flew all night long to be here, and listen to this about how great we’re doing in D.C.”

If the laws governing your game allow for the fudges by Red Bull and CFG but not for the scenario Palace and Lyon find themselves in, you really should let this one slide and reassess your regulations.

kickoff for PSG-Real Madrid delayed by 10 minutes because both teams got stuck in traffic on the way in from their hotels in Manhattan it's been a rocky trip to MetLife for Real Madrid - their flight yesterday from the Miami area was also delayed (which forced them to cancel pre-match media avail)

appropriate that Kylian Mbappe starts in today's semifinal since, regardless of his fitness, it's essentially a check-in on his move from PSG to Real Madrid a year ago, as well as a comparison of two teams in "very different situations," per Luis Enrique www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/...

With Chelsea's win vs Fluminense, Conmebol finishes with a 3-3-6 record vs Uefa competition in the Club World Cup. That's the best any confederation has performed vs Uefa in this tournament. (Also that record is W-D-L, I'm not a maniac)

the Fluminense faithful have made their way to Penn Station, very much outnumbering the number of Chelsea kits I’ve seen so far

FT: Real Madrid 3, Borussia Dortmund I guess these teams were happy to deliver a lot of end-of-match chaos, since it was 2-0 in the 90ht minute and it ended 3-2 to Madrid, who went down to 10 along the way!
