Oh Sara. I’m so sorry. It is an awful feeling. I had that happen as an 18 yr old. It long haunted me. Prayers up for you. And FWIW, seems like the Jesus I know would be holding and healing him now, or already.

This morning a new headlamp came for me, from my huz, pictured above.
The strap was super stretched out and way too big for my head, but I balanced the floppy light on top of my readers, and was impressed how much easier, stringing my viola was! 🤗
I was putting new strings on my viola, at 11:30. I could not for the life of me, see the little hole in the black peg, to start the threading of string, even with readers. I headed out to the garage to nab one of my huz’s forehead lights that he uses a lot.

An aside, the guy who worked on me today said one of his patients asked yesterday if it ever happens that a patient has swallowed a crown during this procedure. He said ‘too soon’, but hardly ever. That’s me!
Today, I went back to dentist to take new imprint to send to lab, because lab said what they had is altered now, and neede to be updated. Sigh. Anyway. I did. They were again, quite apologetic. They even presented me with a gift card. I have no idea what the balance is on it yet, but ok.

Dentist calls this morning. Lab needs another imprint, can I come in tomorrow, for new one?
Lessons went fine. I’m exhausted. Have nice relaxing evening, and practice viola til 11:30.
They put the cap back on -we make appt for another one to be put on after lab makes it. On my way home to teach, I realize; no-that appointment is the same day I need to travel 2 hours to see ankle specialist. We change the date.
They are met with full on noise. I leave for dentist. I text the mom, that it could be 2:30, but it’s happening. I had to cancel on them last week, because of a severe migraine and some other malady I can’t remember now.
Naturally , at the time I raise my voice, so he can hear, I get taken off hold, to be told to come back in right away.
Huz has Queen music cranked high and is obviously enjoying himself while tidying house for students because I’m not able to do it. I try updating. He can’t hear, and besides Queen is much more enjoyable to listen to. 😂
Reader, another permanent cap comes out!!!! In the car, on my way home. I dig it out, pull in to driveway, call dentist. I get put on hold, after explaining situation
It’s two hours at least, since my dental work, and they said I could eat soft things. Ok. Little time. McD’s fish sandwich. Mushy. Takes care of hunger issues.
I have a family of 5 kids coming for lessons. I’m worrying if I’ll be done in time. I text that maybe 2:15 might be better. The fam is coming from another town. I get through hospital X-ray , fairly well. I realize, I’ve barely eaten and going into a long afternoon of teaching.
Anyway, dentist said go to radiology and get an stay. Garage it to the dentist. I go to radiology building. They are on lunch, and send me over to hospital. They wanted to be sure, not in esophagus. So, o go over to hospital. Takes time to check in.
It had been fresh in, from the lab and part of a very expensive, but needed saga of work in my mouth since early June, and yes it’s been sore and no, eating has not been fun.
Meanwhile, yesterday I was to have 3 permanent crowns put on, at the dentist. While they were trying to install, I swallowed one. There was a moment. A moment, where the thing paused, which track to go down? I felt it shift, and then involuntarily swallowed.
Yes! The shock is still wearing off, but the happiness is sneaking in. 🤗
So, that was my serendipity of a weekend. We are the proud owners of a baby grand Baldwin, from when Baldwins were lovely. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
We’ll let it settle awhile before tuning. It is JUST the right size , and I love the walnut. I love the sound and touch.
I was still in shock. Happy shock. And how were we going to manage to get this in?! Guess what? It was easier than Denver had been. Our family and neighbors who rep landlord, and watched our dog helped us. I love it!
Loaded up by 2:40. Took one son and my grandson out for a late lunch, spent a night at the oldest son’s house and was on the road home by 7:30 Am Sunday.
Son and grandson, came to help us move it. Dave moved a lot of grands when he co-owned a piano store with his brother, in the 70s. The hardest part was the deep, spongy carpet. But no steps. 🙌🏼
The piano was perfect. Has a beautiful tone and touch! I was impressed! Owner had died a year ago, and her kids were in a whirlwind, moving their father, and trying to unload piano. Well we loved it.
Huz wanted to leave Friday afternoon. He spent a frustrating day, trying to get tail lights hooked up for trailer. Uh, we cot on the road by 7:00 pm and drove a couple hours, toward Denver. Got on the roas again by 7:00 in AM, and made Denver by ETAs. A s
They wanted a little money, but mostly a good home, for it. I was skeptical. Why Denver? Anyway, it would have to be picked up in Denver ON Saturday. I thought it would probably fall through, but cleared my schedule accordingly.
So, I was shocked that he had been looking. He said he didn’t to know if it would work out, but figured I should know, and it WAS a decent price, the former owner had been a music teacher, played some and had about 5 students, at any given time.
But it was in Maryland. I’m in NE KS, and the time crunch and distance were all too much. I let it go, and FWIW, had let the whole idea of a grand piano go. I was totally at peace and not looking.
I just look at him. We had made a fairly decent consideration and effort, in February to get my aunts grand, who wanted to unload it and I pups live if I could have it. I love her. I’ve long wanted a grand, and the touch is shot in our own studio model.
It is Wednesday. Already! A week ago, today, in the morning, my husband casually mentions that he’s been negotiating with a woman in Denver about a baby grand.
