Just about to talk on Times Radio about Gen Z putting ice in lager…

The story of Anglo-Asian food is fascinating, brilliant and inspiring. But I doubt we’ll ever know the truth about CTM. When Glasgow tried to get recognition as the “official” birthplace, there was very strong pushback from chefs in Delhi, who claimed they'd been making it for centuries.

Today in @thetimes.com we're off to Tesco. While the beer range is dreadfully presented, there are some good deals and a few treasures, if you can find them. www.thetimes.com/life-style/f...

We throw these terms around cheaply and make diagnoses that we are not qualified to make but I genuinely, honestly believe that she is fucked in the fucking head and should not be allowed out on her own because she is a danger to herself and others. Why has no one staged an intervention yet?

Always love @evanrail.bsky.social's writing. Delighted to talk to him about Tasting Notes.

Coming up to two years after I moved to Norfolk, an old magazine found in an antique shop in Bungay articulates the question on everyone’s mind:

East Anglian friends! I’m doing my first big Norfolk gig at the excellent Mannington Book Bash on 27th September, doing my epic beer and music matching show to promote new book Tasting Notes. Please come and see me! Ticket price includes a flight of beers. www.tickettailor.com/events/thema...

Hi @greenmanfest.bsky.social are you *really* running a shuttle from Abergavenny station to the site. We’ve been waiting here for an hour now.
Pete Brown (@petebrownbeer.bsky.social) reply parent
sadly not! CAMRA don’t do audiobooks and I suspect it wouldn’t work anyway. Music rights would be prohibitive and it wouldn’t really work with no music
Pete Brown (@petebrownbeer.bsky.social) reply parent
You could do with a Kriek, a NEIPA, a stout or porter and a couple of others. Thing is I won't be talking about the matches till after the song has played!
Pete Brown (@petebrownbeer.bsky.social)
Well this is awesome beyond awesome. Tonight at 6pm I’m a guest on @bbc6music.bsky.social Round Table, reviewing the week’s new releases and quite possibly suggesting beer pairings for them ahead of my Tasting Notes launch at @greenmanfest.bsky.social tomorrow! www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

I probably did. You have two possibilities. It won't hurt you. And it won’t sell for any money. It will either taste like a wet dog and Bovril or it will be an intriguingly sherry-like wonder. Head in!

Interesting. I judged those awards for a few years. You get one star if there’s nothing wrong with it and it tastes ok. Two and three stars, it really has to be very good. Shows the GGBF success of Abbot was no fluke.

The most shocking thing about BrewDog’s announcement today that it is closing ten bars, is that the closures include all the ones that used to be really good, that people used to travel to get to. Aberdeen, Camden, Shepherd’s Bush, Leeds, Shoreditch… these are the bars where BrewDog was built.
Pete Brown (@petebrownbeer.bsky.social)
I know nearly everyone communicates directly by phone/socials these days, but if you're a PR agency and you have a main switchboard number, and no one answers that number when it rings, you deserve to be fired by every client single you have. YOU HAVE ONE JOB - COMMUNICATION.
