The causes of the "male loneliness epidemic" are: 1. Men have been told they can only be emotional with female partners & close friendship with other men is "gay." 2. These men do not see women as actual human beings worthy of respect and autonomy so women want nothing to do with them. That's it.

I mean, not really? It sucked for the women, and for the men there's still this huge variety of social pressures and vastly inferior medicine. Like, yes, not having to work, and having lots of servants seems fun, but there are some BIG drawbacks that the show does not hide.
Why is it so hard for people to admit they want to have a garden. They don’t want to be farmers. They want to be gardeners. Gardens are fun for people who like growing things and don’t care about making money from it. Farms are dubiously sustainable enterprises, at least at small scale.

I recently went to a McDonald’s where you don’t interact with anyone, you just go to a kiosk and then they put your order on a rack, and the thing that gets me is that nothing on the menu cost less because of it. No benefit for me! Doubt the people in the kitchen are getting paid better!
It’s wild to think about how people feel that MeToo, Black Lives Matter, etc went too far as we watch the rights of women and the safety of Black people being further stripped away. It is just part of the same pattern as we’ve always seen: any inch towards equality is seen as an existential danger.
