Great idea. Within the US Constitutional system, there is a left, right, and center. Trumpism lies outside of the Constitutional system. It will require all of us who still believe in that system, progressives, conservatives, and centrists, uniting to stop it.

I have to nitpick with the phrasing “political idol”. I doubt these people idolize Trump. I would guess many at the table despise him. Political master would be a better description. They are in a master/servant relationship. He will destroy them if they do not kowtow to him.

There must be a gradient from top to bottom to keep the system flowing but too steep of a gradient is detrimental. When I was growing up I remember hearing a 25x CEO to worker pay ratio was the goalpost. We are way above that ratio and our economy is exhibiting the ill effects.
Panderp (@pndrp.bsky.social)
An economy is like an aquarium. It will stagnate unless there is some mechanism to move capital from the top of the economy to the bottom. Money taken from the top & injected into the bottom will naturally flow back to the top, keeping the system functioning.
Panderp (@pndrp.bsky.social) reply parent
It is well past time to replace “trickle down” with “bubble up”. In our system, money bubbles up from working people to the wealthiest. An economy is like an aquarium. It will stagnate unless there is some mechanism to move capital from the top of the economy to the bottom.
