Governors have much more power, but also more responsibility. Democratic leaders in Congress have little power, but could more clear about Trump’s tyrannical goals—but many of them aren’t even rhetorically forceful. They also don’t use the procedural tools at their disposal. It’s weird.

Yep. People like Schumer and Jeffries have bigger megaphones than governors because the national press corps follows them. Yet they are ceding the bully pulpit. When is the last time you see Schumer do a national interview? Jeffries is visible but recites useless focus grouped language.
