The definitive proof is Road House. The 1989 version had a 44/67 rating, and the 2024 version has a 59/52. The new one had higher (15%) Tomatometer from "critics"? Patrick Swayze tosses this out the door.
no because the standards are crapola..hyped, increasingly dystopian and violent, creepy sex. nothing of substance like everything generic and fake.

By my own subjective observation I find movies have, if anything, gotten worse in artistic quality.
Interesting but rotten tomatoes was never reliable at all
So I'm not just getting more curmudgeonly in my old age...at least about movie expectations.
What is the alternative? Does anyone know?
This article would imply that it's reasonable to continue using Rotten Tomatoes, just look at the Audience Score and ignore everything else. (At least until Fandango starts launching bots to write positive Audience reviews.)
