The fact that it doesn't work doesn't mean we're not feeling negative impact from it, though. The entire tech industry is contracting to balance their budgets from the AI money incinerator, not to mention the opportunity cost if they money had been invested in a useful product

Hey TBF our current administration is forcing health officials to use ChatGPT so we still have plenty of room for a major calamity. The fact that it doesn't work doesn't mean idiots aren't using the tech for important things

Ok but like, that's not what the article is about. It pits EA Yudkowsky style AGI doomers against AI boosters; which is exactly the debate tech people want: is the tech good or TOO good to be safe??? "It kinda sucks and the bubble will implode the economy" is not on the table.
