I think theres something to be said that the leadership of much of the big unions are just completely out of their mind. Like im sorry that NAFTA was an objectively good deal???

NAFTA was a good deal but was convenient to blame for companies making bad decisions and the failure of the feds to help with the economic changes it caused. About the only thing we should have added was minimum labor protections into the deal.

Perhaps theres a smattering of gender when we're talking about "manly automotive jobs" when the UAW or the like are offering only the most tepid of defence to their grad worker unions
