She will be civil of course. And over time she will get used to it and hopefully eventually see that this is a good thing for me. Iโve got my son here and he adores his grandma. He canโt wrap his head around why this is difficult. He adores Matt also. Itโs gonna be a rough day but it will pass.

I hope it's going well for you. I'm sorry it's so nerve racking; I remember feeling the same way the first time I introduced a partner to my family. Try not to be too hard on yourself; you did it when you were ready, and you had a harder path than most in coming to terms with your sexuality.
Itโs been an uneven coming out for me. I oathed to not make my bf be a dirty secret after my ex made me feel that way (he eventually got over it, but the feeling happened). I havenโt been like him but if I go any farther down this road then I will be. And thatโs sad for us and all gay people.
