It's beyond disgusting. We've been putting up w/this since Columbine in 1999. For 26 yrs this country has allowed children to be slaughtered in their classrooms. For 26 yrs nothing meaningful has been done to stop it. Republicans say guns have nothing to do w/it. It's depraved.

In 1996 a gunman entered Dunblane Primary School in Scotland. He shot and killed 16 children and their teacher. By the following year radical reform of the gun laws has meant that there have been no school shootings since and guns are rarely involved in murders.

Of course. Because that's what any country that actually wanted to stop gun violence would do. It's not rocket science. It's not even rudimentary math. It's common sense.

Yes important to remind our US cousins every time their media engages with this question as if it’s all conjecture that, once again, the rest of the world does exist, and results are in: we *took away all the guns*, immediately. It stopped.

If your theory about the GOP is correct - where is the political opposition from the Dems? I'm so tired of the status quo leading to this moment where we can rest assured that nothing will happen because the current Prez is destroying our country. Gun safety? Gimme a break?!

I'm sorry - I don't mean to misdirect my anger towards you. I am just sick and tired by Trump's America and the lack of fight from the democrats. It is hard to find hooe anywhere and this latest shooting seems to be a set up for more of the same. Nothing will be done. It will continue.

It's not just Republicans.

I didn't say it's just Rs. I said Rs say guns aren't the problem. Like it or not, that is what Rs say. Dems don't say that. Dems say guns ARE the problem. I also said "this country" has allowed this since 1999. "This country" means all of us. Voters & the SC are also responsible.

I know - but when we had any power - what did we do about it? (The Dems, that is). Nothing, really. Tiny progress. Now all the issues that the Dems care about are on back burner until we can get thru this horror show of an administration.
