Improved awareness, with people removing their nests. Additionally, enough below freezing days will diminish their numbers. I'm glad your area is seeing fewer of them. They're much worse in my area than they ever have been.

I'm so sorry it's gotten worse in your area 😔 I was thinking that we are seeing less of them here because local fauna adapted and started well consuming them... Plus improved awareness and a couple bad winters.

They’ve only disappeared from the news.

They've really been disappearing in South Jersey. Like 3-4 years ago, a walk around the block with a fly swatter would average 100+ kills, this summer I haven't seen one yet.

Well that’s good then. They are a dangerous invasive pest, even if they were kind of pretty.

Oh they are horrible. The first year they killed all my grape plants. 😭

Ugh, lanternflies are the worst.
