This to me shouts that someone just went for the full fantasy look and pretty much ignored history completely. Which is their right of course, go for it, but own it and don't get upset when people who care about history don't like it.

I wish all these fantasy style historical costumes were less boring. If you’re going to make it up at least do something wild with it and not the same brown leather and half pony tails.

I had a little look at Einarsdóttir's IMD page to see which historical productions she was the costume designer for. Here's one she did, I haven't seen it. She was also an assistant on Game of Thrones & Noah (2014). www.imdb.com/title/tt4738...
