Headlines like these are blowing the ukranian success are out proportion. Russians are causing mass casualties on the ukranians and ultimately, its the meatgrinder whats going to cause more damage. Machines can be replaced, people cannot.

Take that Putin!!!
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
GO UKRAINE!!!!!!!!✊️🇺🇦✊️
Hooray! Good job Ukraine!🇺🇦
Putin wouldn't agree to a cease fire. FAFO
well if they want peace, they don't need those bombers anyways
Ditto! bsky.app/profile/did:...
Bombers they lack the capability of replacing...
And every truck in Russia becomes a potential drone carrier….. That should cause a few logistical problems.
I love this for Ukraine so much for so many reasons.
Taco's response was to criticize Ukraine (lol) when Ukraine has effectively incidentally made the USA a slightly safer place.
What's most laudable to me is that they hit only clearly military targets, with no civilian casualties being reported.
I cannot express how much I love this for them!
$500 drones. Cost efficient destruction!
unscheduled rapid disassembly!
Right before the Trump parade too!
I certainly hope there’s a Pentagon assessment team on the ground in Ukraine solely for the purpose of documenting how they pulled this operation off.
1. Textbooks are going to be written about this guy 2. Innovative strategies ftw 3. Who knows if there are more drones in Russia? Not putin 4. Who knows what other secrets Zelenskyy has? Not putin 6. Who knows what other innovative strategies Zelenskyy has? Not putin Russia is shitting themselves.
Gods, I would have loved to have heard Putin's initial reaction to being told he just lost a full third of his strategic bomber fleet. And I bet the other 2/3rds aren't fully operational given the state of the rest of his military. What an absolute shit show.
His response usually comes down to "Everything is under control" and a smile. I don't think it will be any different this time.
This should be called Putin's "Hitler Moment" - he's now fighting a two-front war and the Russian people now know that the war can be brought to their doorsteps. Ironic since the second front was Hitler's attack on his "ally" Russia.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Zelenskyy can now go into those talks with a clear energy of "you may have started this war, but if you don't end it, we will end it for you." Good.
Every time Ukraine does this, Russians need to remember they could have attacked apartment buildings and hospitals just as easily. It would be so easy to "accidentally" strike a population center like Russia has been doing.
Thank you for this excellent report.

GREAT writeup!!! Thank you. "Russian's Pearl Harbor" is perfect!!!
*Russia's
The Pearl Harbor guys ultimately won the war, so perhaps not the best comparison? The Port Arthur attack on the other hand...
Yea, well.....the sneak attack was awesome. I'm praising it. Can't really compare the US to Russia's military, can we? IMO there's no comparison. I'm just happy for them.
I'm very happy for Ukraine. I admit, I wonder... how vulnerable would the US be to a similar attack? Or any other country?
Would our intelligence agencies be ready? (With Gabbard and Patel, I have a LOT of doubts.). The attack was to Russian military air bases, but it could also be targeted at infrastructure (power plants) or even civilian air bases.
No. Absolutely not. Maybe in a few weeks or months we'll be ready, but this attack was unprecedented. Someone might have thought of it and filed a report but I guarantee no country - except perhaps Ukraine itself - has countermeasures in place for an action like this yet.
Granted, Ukraine took a year to plan and had technological innovations with AI that could get past the signal jamming, but... there's a lot in the implementation that seems accessible even to terrorists. So, I'm a little concerned.
In 10 years, there will be ai driven drones hunting civilians in every city on the planet. It is only a matter of time... Enjoy the silence...
Well... I admit, I wasn't looking that far ahead. "Coherent Light"... any chance that has something to do with Walter Jon Williams' books?
In ten years the world will be unrecognizable. It'll change but almost certainly not in a way we can predict today.
I'm also guessing that Ukraine's attack would get beyond something like a "golden dome" which is intended to surround the country rather than handle attacks within the country.
It basically bypasses all modern air defense doctrine, including and especially something like a dome system.
Ukraine is re-writing the rules of warfare in real time. Textbooks will be written about this operation and studied in officer academies worldwide. The days of multi-million dollar weapons platforms may be numbered.
It was a shock for AH and his military henchmen in the early 1940s when the RAF started hitting German cities on their own territory - strikes from which they never recovered psychologically.
Now take care of the other 2/3 rds
