listening to a podcast usually while cooking, talking or watching videos while eating >.>
Turn on some sort of Youtube video, either comedy, a playthrough, or comedic review of football. Sometimes a podcast.
getting distracted by this question
I borrowed DVDs from the library and watched all of The Wire in my kitchen either cooking or sitting on the floor eating with my bowl/plate in my lap. These days I don’t have a kitchen TV so it’s usually podcasts.
Physically I’m watching YouTube. Mentally I’m imagining my life if I had wings.
I love this so much.
Listening to music if cooking watching YouTube if eating.
I put on a podcast but I can only listen to it in 3 minute increments because I constantly have to pause while I measure, cut, think or breathe
Getting distracted, tornadoing around my kitchen frantically, "listening" to a podcast, thinking about physics/history/sociology/other food/a random day from 13 years ago, and still somehow making good food.
I’ve been known to write threads about Cooking with ADHD. With pictures. In which I express how unfair it is to tell me to “stir occasionally.”
Yes fucking exactly. 😮💨
That instruction in a personal attack
“Why are they picking on meeeeeee!?!!??”
While cooking I also wash the dishes and utensils I just used, talk to the dogs at my feet, taste everything every few minutes. While eating I watch tv and talk with my demented dad, fuss at the dogs, look out the window at weather, fiddle with things on the table.
Concert videos, TV reruns, or music. My phone is usually close at hand for internet (and recipe checks I guess)
listening to podcasts mostly!
Reading at least one book, talking to several people, scrolling BlueSky. At the least.
I'm listening to a podcast and maybe I have a book open.
Nice!
I sit down in my recliner while my meat cooks on the grill. But I have to set an alarm with Alexa so I don't forget about the food.
Usually I need my laptop to be doing something productive on its own, and I'm also listening to a podcast.
I can't believe we existed before podcasts on demand. I have no idea how I made it through that.
The TV was on in the background, that's how. Or in a clutch, the radio.
My grandma was always wearing some kind of portable radio with a single wired earbud. For decades. This was like 15+ years ago.
Excellent.
I'm suddenly very interested in more historical ADHD coping methods.
Pacing around the kitchen holding my bowl of oatmeal and a spoon.
Cooking, I'm cooking, thats it unless the phone rings I answer for certain people. Eating is a social event when Im with someone, different when alone, reading, or taking phone calls, or watching TV.
music to cook youtube to eat
Audiobooks!
Simultaneously cleaning the dishes so I don’t have to do them all later.
Side note: I don’t have ADHD. I have OCD.
For cooking I'm listening to audiobook or podcast. For eating I'm either watching TV or surfing the internet.
I either turn on a podcast, or themed music (Italian, Mexican, etc) or dance music to dance while cooking. Also I read instructions about 20x. Pretty sure I passed the test. 😄
