It's not deportation, it's rendition, trafficking, or disappearing.

Is this grounds for a libel lawsuit? IANAL obviously, but this sure seems like libel.
Given the con’t smear campaign by gov’t, aren’t they flouting Crenshaw 7/31 order of those connected to Mr. Abrego's criminal case in TN were prohibited from making public comments outside the allegations in his indictment, per Local Criminal Rules 2.01(a)(1) & TN Rule of Professional Conduct 3.8(f)
Noem must resign. Now.
Doesn't the Constitution guarantee a trial?!?
So she's defaming him....
Was he actually *charged* with any crimes, other than the "driving illegal immigrants around" one?
On MS-13, Noem's announcement notes that when he was arrested in 2019, the PG County Gang Unit validated his MS-13 ties. But as we reported, the cop whose testimony this was based on was suspended soon after and indicted for serious professional misconduct. 3/ newrepublic.com/article/1940...
And internal emails released by whistleblower revealed top DHS officials internally debating the urgent need to "find" evidence that Abrego was a violent MS-13 member. "I have not found anything," said one, "but I'll keep looking." They never found anything. 4/ newrepublic.com/article/1977...
Because they be lying liars. Good on him for not pleading guilty. Stay strong 💪🏼
We should probably get a picture of his knuckles. The picture Trump showed was amateurishly retouched to the point of embarrassment.

Maybe, just maybe, there is nothing🤔.
This a Monty Python "She's a witch!" skit gone horribly wrong on purpose.
When ICE is crushed, and eliminated, there will be a money trail. We will find out who was paid for rounding up innocent Americans. How much the bounty was, who was hired with criminal backgrounds, who gave the orders, who profited from the concentration camps, etc.. prosecutions will follow.
They have no shame at all, do they?
SMDH.
ICE released declaration that Abrego was "verified member" of MS-13, but proof of this never materialized, either. It was based on a judge's declaration that proved to be based on incredibly thin evidence. Trump, Vance et al smeared him on this basis for months. 5/ newrepublic.com/article/1977...
I hope he sues their sorry butts.
JD Vance, Miller and others lied that Trump couldn't bring Abrego back because his fate was up to Bukele. They defied SCOTUS on these grounds. But the claim was absolute nonsense. Vance's bad faith and malevolence has been extraordinary all throughout. 6/ bsky.app/profile/greg...
Important detail: Miller clearly lied to Trump about the 9-0 "facilitate" order, focusing on one detail and telling Trump they WON 9-0 at the Supreme.
I mean, the most serious allegations were basically driving other undocumented people from one city to another and an unverified claim that one of them was underaged, which is most likely someone reading a handwritten 1 as a 7. And they're trying to send him to Uganda over it.
wasn't it more likely intentionally altering a doc by changing a 1 to a 7?
Entirely possible. I'm going based on a discussion where the police had the people in the car write their names and dates of birth and the issue was that if the year ended in a 1, they were over 18 and if it was a 7, they weren't and everyone else was over 18.
yeah, same incident. just thought it was credibly alleged that someone may have altered the digit to support the DOJ allegation. Might just be conspiracy theory paranoia. shrug
Could certainly be a possibility because Noem was making a big thing about Garcia being a "trafficker" instead of just a guy driving undocumented adults to a work location.
The podcaster I was listening to said that it could have gone either way on if it was a 1 or a 7 and they hadn't found any attempt to verify that person's age. I didn't hear any allegations that someone had tried to change the date on the form.
JD Vance demonstrates that you can admit a faux hillbilly to Yale Law but you can’t make him think.
After Trump finally caved and brought Abrego back, the administration moved to prosecute him for trafficking. But don't forget this: A leading prosecutor in the office bringing the case resigned, and the reason was plainly that this prosecution stunk to high hell. 7/ abcnews.go.com/US/mistakenl...
Now the admin seems to have tried to coerce him into pleading to trafficking (dubious to begin with), by offering a choice: A plea and you go to Costa Rica. No plea and it's Uganda. That's vile. And @annabower.bsky.social notes, it exposes still more bad faith. 8/ bsky.app/profile/anna...
This is so fucked up it would be outright rejected as a B movie script… THIS is our DOJ… we’re so screwed if we don’t revolt NOW!
I sure as hell hope Dick Durbin pursues this to its logical conclusion.
Consider signing. Pam Bondi & Ashley Moody corruption. Bondi & Moody's corrupt FL legacy qualified them for national office. www.change.org/p/pam-bondi-...
Let's not forget, as @leahlitman.bsky.social says, that this coercion has been enabled by the Supreme Court allowing deportations to third countries to go forward. SCOTUS has enabled this "campaign of terror" against Abrego to go forward, Litman writes. /9 crookedmedia.substack.com/p/the-suprem...
John fucking Robert’s et al.
Morality has no relevance to this court.
Nor does the law.
Horrible people
Trump and Miller had the option AT ANY POINT to simply bring him back and try to remove him to a third country or contest his "withholding of removal" status. That they're doing exactly this now exposes how corrupt they've been all throughout. Thread on this below. 10/ bsky.app/profile/greg...

The timeline of govt action & inaction is a massive damages lawsuit against the USA, and also the govt officials individually & personally for their intentional conduct.
I'm not sure I'd go with 'corrupt'. 'Consciously-chosen evil' hits better for me.
They also had the option of bringing him back and immediately putting him on trial for the criminal charges. If they had evidence.
I am not sure what is meant by "handling". Are you implying there is a way to deport citizens without any grounds for removal, and in lieu of concentration camps in America, there is a way to deport our citizens to any country on the globe that will accept them?
As @davidkurtz.bsky.social notes, this case has been a test of whether our system can withstand levels of bad faith and abuses of power that seem designed to strain the law's very ability to function. I hope this thread demonstrates how unfathomably terrible their conduct has truly been. 11/11

Levels of bad faith? Are you implying there is any reason whatever to have "faith" in dtrump and this administration regarding anything?
Also, when they brought back Abrego Garcia from El Salvador on "charges", DOJ moved to dismiss the original case with Judge Xinis. They wanted to stop both a contempt charge & having to disclose the secret agreement between the Trump Administration and the El Salvador government.
