Y’all were not taking care of that rabbit, he didn’t have to be so fat.
Poor baby. 💔🌈

Cancer, or type II diabetes?
He’s a Flemish Giant, they just get that big, he wasn’t fat
RIP fellow Alex.
Rest in clover, Alex.🍀
Sooo sad. Alex was very handsome
Obesity is a leading cause of cancer. He probably could have lived longer if he wasn't so overweight.
Looks like he was a Flemish giant that can grow up to 50 lbs. Not obese, just unlucky to get cancer.
😭😭😭😭
Universally, cancer sucks.
Rest in peace, big little bunny... you'll always live in my heart. Giant flemish rabbits are so beautiful 🫶
What an absolute unit! You can tell he was fed lots and lots of treats. His life was short but packed full of love.
😘
He does not appear dead, why he in a coffin?
RIP 💔
This is so sad. RIP Alex ❤️❤️❤️
RIP to a great. met him at Valley fair one time. so cute 😭😭
Rip Alex The Great 😔
Awwwww, 😥
IMHO that's animal abuse to let an animal get that obese to the point they can't fight illnesses and diseases properly. Icon or not, animals deserve better.
This poor rabbit looks to be obese. I have seen rabbits that were raised for food and they were not as big as this guy. Domestic rabbits normally live at least twice as long as Alex the Great did.
He looks like a continental giant. They are crazy large bunnies. I’ve seen one at a healthy weight and it was maybe 22 lbs. i have a flemish giant but she’s half that size

It's hard to tell from the video, because you can only see the top of his body. I have seen so-called "meat" rabbits that were about 40 pounds, but hopefully this guy was more fit than he appears.
I raise meat and pet rabbits, that neck pooch is standard in rex and flemish giants including the shatter face line of rex, he looks about the same size as my flemish giant just my Snuggle Bunny is grey instead of fawn, good ideal weight on him ❤️
SO sorry to read about that about this darling bunny. May he rest in peace in a carrot patch somewhere near the rainbow bridge.
Oh no! RIP Alex the Great
So sad.💔
Rest in Power, Big Guy.
💔
That is a big bunny.
Awww…this is very sad. Such a sweet bunny.
Rest in peace, Alex.

dayum that’s a big-ass rabbit. 😳 his parents should have made him exercise more, now all the other bunnies will bully him but i guess he could just eat them in fact it looks like he already has
My condolences to all who knew and loved Alex the Great.
💔😪
😢😢
#RIPAlextheGreatTheRabbit so much stress and obesity...animals are not ours @peta.org @defenders.org @mercyforanimals.org @wwf.de
FTS. Alex was a giant breed, beloved by many, and his humans are NOT any kind of worthy target for this bullshit.
Wow even Bluesky isn’t immune to the “I refuse to do any additional research and comment absolute garbage” virus. Alex was a Flemish Giant. They’re normally 15-22 pounds so even if he was overweight it wasn’t by much. Not all rabbits are a dainty 4 pounds.
These comments feel like instagram, the self righteous pedestal standers are out in force 😒
I haven't blocked this many people since we left Twitter.
No kidding!
Has NBC Sports Bay Area posted the clip where Kruk and Kuip first noticed Alex at a Giants game four years ago? We were still social distancing the seats. Alex Wood was pitching. "Is that...a RABBIT?!"
I haven’t seen it posted but I remember that!
One of those COVID quarantine nights when baseball games felt like community.
Christ Almighty I cannot right now. I’ve seen Alex and his person, in person. He was obviously very loved and loving and I hope his person is doing ok and will be able to find some peace. They were both fantastic ambassadors for support animals. People need to stop being dicks.
His parents spent a small fortune on surgery. The posts on IG made me cry. I ran into him once after a Giants game and got to pet him. Completely starstruck. Not to mention racing around in that little car.
I’ll admit I was jealous of his Benz! Was so thrilled to be crossing the street to the stadium with them one day! I just saw him with one person. Sincere condolences to all who loved him. Ugh I am almost glad to have missed the heartbreaking journey. #ForeverGiant
It's just a reminder of how many people loved him. A month ago they flew to the East Coast (possibly for surgery) and a whole crowd of airport wag brigade dogs were there to welcome them.

No way! Oh I am so glad. That is the support they deserve!
Godspeed, Alex.
I'm so sorry! What a beautiful baby!
RIP you sweet bastard! May heaven be filled with carrots as large as you are Alex the Great!

I’d have guessed diabetes. RIP Alex.
Great pic.
💔💔💔🥺
You’ve done well Alex. ❤️❤️❤️
Rabbits normally live 8 to 12 years. there’s a lesson here. Despite how the food industry has convinced people that they should be happy with their body’s no matter how obese they are, and that simply telling people they are obese is “fat shaming”. Obesity severely shortens your life expectancy.
Obesity causes cancer, as well as a host of other health problems. www.cancer.gov/about-cancer...
Alex is scrunched up here, and rabbits appear to have more of a barrel chest when they sit like this. His breed is Flemish Giant and here's a photo for context...
He was a Flemish giant. And the death of a beloved local animal is not the place for a lecture or a lesson. Seriously.
This is what a healthy Flemish Giant looks like. That animal was obese even by Flemish standards. The death of a pet is the perfect time for a lessons about death and factors that can cause an early death. Even Mr Dressup gave a lesson about death when his fish died.
Rabbits basically turn to liquid when they're lounging. We had a healthy FG mix who looked like a fat blob in that position. A lot of rabbits look chunkier when loafing. Also, you aren't a vet. Giant breeds have a shorter life expectancy & cancer is a very common dx, regardless of weight.
... alex is the size size as that rabbit he just has longer fur

No!! 😢 It’s like we can’t have anything good right now.
It has to be doomposting about politics and fandom 24/7. I just can't right now.
