So depressing because I KNOW that Americans could have that life if we had a majority of decent, ethical people in our government.

In a democracy, this majority of decent, ethical people in government needs to be voted for by ordinary people, though. And they seem to be rather clueless....

We do not have a democracy. If you watch even the DNC they carefully handpick who can even run. We will need a third strong party or a revolution to change things.

It seems to be based on “campaign financing” or who collected the most $ from oligarchs. Of course then if you want to keep your cushy seat - you are beholden to your oligarch who dictates what you do and say. And the oligarchs want to freeload and steal your money and freedom - and yall let them.
