Showed the 7yo and 11yo Monty Python and the Holy Grail last night and all morning they’ve been saying Ni loudly and proudly. The 11yo now wants to watch Spinal Tap and Airplane. The next couple of family movie nights are gonna be fun.

I've done the same with 11 y.o. and, interestingly, both Spinal Tap and Airplane didn't really land (badum-tss) because they have topical humor that he's just too far removed from to understand. But Holy Grail, Young Frankenstein, Duck Soup, even Modern Times absolutely hit despite their age.

I watched Holy Grail and Airplane with my 8yr old and we had a blast. Some stuff in Airplane went right over his head or I had to give context, but I completely forgot about that quick topless scene which honestly, wasn’t that bad.
