On redistricting, a few more thoughts: 1. Move local elections like mayor to federal election dates. Get all the urban voter turn out you can. 2. We have open primaries, so run a popular candidate in the GOP primary. Make folks work hard, particularly w/lots of new city voters.

It is mandatory that people get 4 hours paid leave to go vote in #Canada. We find democracy participation important.

Are elections still on work days in the US in order to minimise the participation of people who have to work to live?

Also, as if this suggestion needs to be stated again and again and again. Make Voting Day, a national holiday. Eliminate a few of them that are unnecessary and based on bullshit, and replace them with holidays that matter. Corporations have commercialized too many of them.

Make Voting day 24 hours. That starts and ends at the exact same time across the United States! NO ONE gets to start COUNTING, until EVERYONE starts counting!

Presidential Elections should be a federal holiday. Local elections should be held on a Friday and Saturday. Giving people the opportunity to vote Watermark votes, who cares Only people running for office which they are serving will be on the ballot. Ballots must be reprinted if there’s an error

Help organize if you can. Give rides if needed. Encourage people to vote. Remember, those of us on here, are some of the most engaged citizens besides those who make their living in politics. Local elections are how the GOP has an outsized influence. Let's change that. #resist #resistance

Everyone would benefit from Democratic governors implementing ranked choice voting teach users how easy it is to pick their first second and third choices. And force the idea amongst your constituents that your policies must help the people because there will be choices.

Item 1 should be considered by every major city and has the fortune of being good policy too. You lose little and gain a lot in a place like Kansas City, where a competitive mayoral may drive more turnout in our new forced congressional districts. effectivegov.uchicago.edu/primers/the-...

Mr. Mayor, agree with you on this point. Is this an action KC at the council level or as a ballot initiative is being looked into? Thank you!

Item 2 allows us to actually test if moderates still have a lane. By watering down conservatism in Alford’s district, for example, they’re actually making it vastly more moderate. Crossover voting should be encouraged. Regardless, forced resource expenditure is always worthwhile.
