I can respect that he and his wife made this choice. What I cannot respect is the way it was presented - as though every couple should make this choice. It is a condescending and truly insulting way to speak to young people about to venture out into the adult world. Very inappropriate.

I find it difficult to *respect* their choice, but I can certainly accept it. People should live the way they want.
The part that gets me is that it how tone deaf it is financially isn't even a choice for most couples. Unless you have someone bringing in the kind of money pro athletes do it isn't really an option if it IS what they want.
