That’s not how that works. Every agency has an overhead rate. Usually 100% overhead. Their actual salary is less than that.
Wait - DOGE is a government department, right? Some lady who went on vacay for awhile is head, right? So the DOL, a government department, is paying DOGE, another government department, via a service agreement, right? Why is there a service agreement at all?
This is how USDS and GSA’s 18F and a few other organizations that provide intra-governmental services work. They “charge” for their services, bc they don’t get a budget.

That’s not how it works. Every agency has an overhead rate. That’s the total cost of having an employee. Their actual salary less than that. For instance, at a National Laboratory will have an overhead rate on the order of 300%. So an employee making $150,000 costs over $500,000 per year.
