I know a fair number of women who want to have kids but they can't find a decent single man to have them with. I think this is common. Although I find "raising the fertility rate" to be a bad, creepy goal, it's pretty clear to me that achieving that goal requires changing men, not changing women.

it drives me nuts that "fertility" is used when it is "BIRTH RATE". fertility refers to the capacity to produce viable (fertile) gametes and live births, (ffs, imo)

Absolutely. Couldn't agree more. But try explaining that to a nation that would still rather pretend women don't have periods than accommodate them in any manner. We as a nation have failed our women. Reproductive rights are considered luxury, only afforded to the super rich and super white.

To raise the fertility rate you first have to: 1) End economic slavery and inequality 2) Fund healthy baby programs 3) Childcare for the poor 4) Codify Roe into National Law 5) Medicare for all 6) Provide a Regional Living Wage so citizens can cover all basic costs: food, shelter and transport..

women can and do have kids on their own. its called 'being a single mother by choice' or just a 'choice mom' they literally just go to a fertility clinic and select a donor and have a kid by themselves to raise. a woman doesn't need a ring to have a crib, just FYI. lol.

We had very low cost or free childcare during WWII. Gee, I wonder why!

And available starter homes, better paying jobs, and more affordable food, etc. our current state is not conducive for having kids.
Not to mention women might not want to send their precious children to the killing fields (classrooms) so one parent leaves work force to home educate. Expensive.
I've seen some wild things from women like salary requirements etc that really aren't a factor when getting to know someone. I think given EVERY gender inhabits society this is an ALL people problem. I know American society has no real language for cooperation nor empathy-we've even seen IT argued.
