Too bad about Royalton. We love Negril - have stayed on beach at Idle A While, Charela Inn, Nirvana. While I admit there is a need for some updating in general, these accommodations are clean and are more authentic to the good overall Jamaican vibes. Huge AIs are creeepy if not well done.
