Excuse me. We tried. We voted ***65%*** in favor of restoring most ex-felons' voting rights. The totally gerrymandered legislature IGNORED us.
It’s not as simplistic as gerrymandering—it’s ignoring the will of the people whom they are supposed to rep-we vote in good faith and they’ve been just saying nah and ignoring us for a v long time: NC judge, legalizing weed, NE; limiting power of gov in WI etc and now Elmo whom we def didn’t elect
Well, yeah. I was noting that FL's lege is crookedly dominated by Repugs who do what THEY, not their constituents, want. If not for that, ex-felon voting rights would've been restored in 2019, AND we'd have our abortion rights back plus legalized marijuana now. ➡️
If not for them doing whatever the hell they want, the lege wouldn't have shoved that "pregnant pig" 60% supermajority referendum voting hike onto the ballot in 2006. (Which couldn't even pass by 60%, but now it's law.) in 2023, they tried to increase it to 66.67%!!
We voted TWICE in Missouri for legal right to end pregnancy. State legislature’s fighting it. 1st banned under “trigger law” prepared by the AG without voter consent. No allowance for rape, incest or ENDANGERING the mother’s life. Judge ordered them to comply with last election, still no services.
