In a recent text exchange with friends, one said she hates/is sick of Democrats, who she called wimps, & I did what you suggest: amplified the ones who are doing something. As I wrote to her: "Rather than getting pissed at all of them, we need to support the ones who are acting & speaking out. "
Ask her what she thinks Democrats should be doing. The complainers rarely have a sensible answer to that.
They need to stop calling for bipartisanship. They need to stop allowing unanimous consent to slide through. They need to stop voting for Trump's cabinet picks and policies. They need to get loud about how Trump is a fascist dictator who is breaking the law flagrantly. They need to call for more
people to stand up to what the Republicans are doing. They need to gerrymander the hell out of their states to keep Republicans out of office. They need to actually loudly start pushing to protect people instead of sacrificing some minorities so they can hold onto their seats where they do nothing.
If you think none of that is "sensible," then congratulations. You're a useless sack of shit who is directly responsible for Democrats being useless sacks of shit because you're willing to accept that.
When I've asked her that question in the past, she said she doesn't know specifically as she is not a political person but whatever Republicans did when Obama & Biden were president & the GOP blocked them. Her feeling is that Democrats are too accommodating & aren't fighting enough to stop Trump.
