People constantly lie about being married/in a committed relationship in order to cheat on their partners, and THAT'S not considered illegal or a sex crime, just kind of a dick move. People lie about their jobs to get laid. They lie about their height/weight. They lie about their age.

Were you born an optimist, or did you grow into it? Everyone lies; it is the magnitude of the lie that seems to matter. Lying at a low level keeps social cohesion in place. Bigger lies lead to war.

We have a rapist felon pedo as president who lies with every breath. Weak cowards see that as encouraging their own lies for gain/profit/crimes

I recall seeing that someone was considered not guilty of rape by deception for lying about a vasectomy and (I believe, but am less sure of this) causing pregnancy

I really think assigned gender at birth and trans status must be the ONLY personal identity/anatomy related lies or omissions that are considered to render a consensual encounter retroactively rape.

Right, no one's going "you said you were nineteen but you're only fifteen? it's juvie for you!!" (but also, and frankly what I was thinking of: no one's coming for young-looking thirtysomethings who pass themselves off as 28 to seem more desirable or date younger people, etc)

been thinking a lot about how consent language got twisted into a knife against trans people. it's like the "social contagion" propaganda fully metastized into our personhoods being a transmissible (sexual) disease
