I don't blame you for not having the time or the will to connect all the dots. Most of us simply don't want to believe a crime of this magnitude could happen here, which is one of the reasons the perpetrators are getting away with it.

Yes, “connecting the dots” - with imagined conclusions. Why didn’t the article cite any real examples of a computer being hacked via *power supply* of all things? There are actual investigative journalists for whom this would be a career-defining break. Why are none of them covering this?

A cartoon showing “data” as a series of dots, and then “information”, “knowledge”, “insight” and “wisdom” as more and more annotations on those dots. The final panel shows someone joining & embellishing the dots to create a winged purple unicorn, labelled “conspiracy theory”

There are statisticians whose literal job is to look at election results for discrepancies. There are sophisticated tests you can do to determine if numbers have been generated naturally or forged to fit some pattern. Why are none of them sounding the alarm?

Computer scientists & security researchers are constantly looking for vulnerabilities that can be exploited. Why have none of them talked about the danger of untrusted uninterruptible power supplies?

It’s comforting to believe the election was stolen by hacking, because that would mean Trump didn’t win the popular vote (albeit by a thin margin). But it wasn’t, the way we beat Trump is to win the propaganda war, stop him from dismantling free elections *now*, and win the midterms.

It's not comforting, it's reality. I don't care how much money they spent last year, Americans are not that stupid/racist/misogynist/Christo-fascist/nationalist/homophobic. We're rather blame each other than to accept something we repeatedly assured ourselves wasn't possible for the past four years.

Excuse me, have you *met* Americans? Or studied your own history? The whole rest of the world saw this coming from a mile away. If you guys are going to sort this mess out then you’re going to have to reckon with the fact that it’s always been present, in one form or another

I'm quite familiar with American narcissism and the myth of our exceptionalism. Yes, we have these problems but the *majority* of us knew who Trump was prior to last November. You've already made up your mind so just keep believing whatever you want. Have a nice day.

“it couldn’t happen here” is literally American exceptionalism! It happened and now the rest of the world has to deal with your fuck up. Own it. Deal with it.

MSM is not our friend. They're not our enemies either, but those communication conglomerates are hopelessly dependent on Trump(ism) for their ratings. Go on believing whatever you want. Trump miraculously won the popular vote and all 7 swing states by just enough to not trigger recounts. OK.
