Unapologetic fighting by the media for reality or “truth” or “facts” would be good too.

Abandon legacy media and embrace independent reporting. The news isn't dead, corporations have grown too accustomed to their proximity to power and are now state propagandists. Good journalists don't need all that.
I don’t disagree with your point but indIvidual independent journalists or journalism outlets don’t have the reach of the big outfits, unfortunately.
Absolutely. To replace 1 big name in your media diet means replacing it with 3 or 4 independent reporters who may all work at different outlets. But, you can move at your own pace, and I truly believe you'll notice the reporting is legitimately better.
I also have some resources compiled, so if you have a specific news area to ask for suggestions, I may have some.
I subscribe to a number of independents but was one who had subscriptions to local papers, NY Times, WaPo, the WSJ *and* cable, a true news glutton!
Carefully removing sources can be as important as carefully adding them. Maybe just note for yourself what each paper would have to do to lose your readership. Then periodically check back and see if they've done it. When I've done this, I usually don't have to wait long. Happy reading!
You are so right and I have rid myself of many of them already!
You won't get that from corporate media. It's owned by the same billionaires who own the GOP.
