I often wonder why woman have such a great Blues tradition from Sister Rosetta Tharpe through Bonnie Raitt, Big Mama Thornton, Bessie Smith, Etta James, Shemekia Copeland et al to modern blues-rock artists like Rebecca Lovell. Why do women so profoundly have the Blues? Oh yeah...MEN.
