since the election our little trans group has gotten the county to create a Sanctuary Promise protecting trans people and immigrants, got them to make the new sheriff adhere to that Promise, have focused attention on FLOCK cameras, joined other local progressive groups to create a larger movement
out of the SP the county is working with providers and our communities to help secure our GAC. a spinoff of our group provides de-escalation services to events for vulnerable groups and some hope of delaying ICE if they arrive. And we witness and support the people going to their check-in meetings
with ICE and we protest and witness those kidnapped. all of this started with a total of ten trans people and allies in my living room about ten days after the election. you can do a lot when you are scared to death. we can’t stop them but we can hold them back a whole lot in our county.
It’s okay if your voice shakes when you address the board. It’s worth it. And you might help others be brave too.
Yeah but that means they may actually have to.....DO SOMETHING besides complain on the internet
