Turns out @pbump.com was right; the "413% increase in assaults on ICE agents" was actually an increase from 8 to 41.

They've arrested 97,700 people. If I've done the math right, that's an attack 0.04% of the time they kidnap someone.
And increase in kidnappings has nothing to do with it. People just hate their faces. Ohhh wait…
The definition of assault has been revamped. Ask, for example, Alex Padilla.
I bet all of those assaults were the result of ICE assaulting women and children
There is a distinction to be made on "assaulting law enforcement officers". A) Resisting arrest when badged PD bring you to precinct to answer evidenced charges. B) Stopping unidentified, masked men dragging you into a vehicle which, if they are bona fide, results in immediate deportation.
Especially when it is ICE doing the counting, not even a judge.
Someone needs to sue ICE AND DHS! www.nycbar.org/press-releas...
Pls watch from 48:30 to end. 🙏🏼 www.youtube.com/live/1hGlWy9...
They lie about everything. That’s all they do
This has happened before! www.history.com/articles/ope...
That’s still less than the number of officers assaulted in one day on January 6th.
Given that Rep McIver was indicted for assault on a fed officer for...accidentally bumping into one with her elbow, pardon me while I side-eye ALL of the reports of assault on ICE agents in the absence of further evidence.
“My cookie consumption has gone up 300%!”… from 1 to 3 cookies.
Up 413%, but as a % of overall engagements it’s probably down 80 points
Since it is ICE doing the reporting it is likely that the assaults in question relate to harsh language directed against ICE agents.
Maybe someone got a nosebleed.
ICE treats assault the same way Renaldo does. Nudges, brush by, occasionally hitting your hand on someone 64 yr old guy’s face.
now do deaths of kidnapped people
And these are ‘claims’ of assault. Nothing DHS says should be assumed true until verified by non MAGAts
Wonder how it tracks if you cross it with rate of ICE engagements from 2024 to 2025.
They could fix that easily....show your face and your badge so people know who's actually kidnapping them.
Define assault.
Take your masks off. Show your badge and name tag. Present a judicial warrant. Don't dress like a TV cop. Quit driving unmarked vans like pedophiles.
😒
I regret that it wasn't 100%
With the way ICE is behaving that number should be much higher with good reason.
in the thousands I saw a local guy dressed up in similar fashion and my first thought was crash into his car I am certain that hostility towards all law enforcement is way way up it is for me, I can speak for myself, all of the LE needs to speak up and separate themselves from Nazis
I’m just gonna say I have an ACAB tattoo and leave it at that. There are no good pigs in my eyes they’re all tools of fascism.
I'm sure you understand the pitfalls of black and white thinking but I understand if you've had no good experiences why would you expect anything but what you have experienced
And the term "assault" includes asking for ID and a warrant from the thugs.
The real question is: are they actual agents?
And many of these "assault" claims are suspect, at best
Big decrease. How many more thousands of people are they coming into contact with a day?
*in a day?
Plus arent there more of them out and about? I mean, the pool is bigger so naturally there will be more assaults.
Yes, but I bet the majority of those assaults were not actual assaults.
Oh, like this woman! ICE said she was "arrested for assaulting an agent". She was a US citizen who was tackled by anonymous armed thugs on her way to work, and she was literally just (unsuccessfully) trying NOT TO BE KIDNAPPED. ktla.com/news/local-n...
Yep - absolutely sickening.
why are you hitting yourself? why do you keep hitting yourself?
I am curious of the methodology and the fact that masked, unidentified people trying to stuff you or someone you know into a car... is going to elicit a reaction from people.
also they have every incentive to inflate with false reports for additional arrest pretexts. We've seen what DHS has termed "assault" with regards to elected officials it's accused, and even with unambiguous video evidence that they're the ones assaulting said officials, they're running with it.
the Lakin Riley Act made the accusation immediate grounds for detention and I'd be surprised if zero of these additional instances are reports to create cause.
