My thoughts are; for the primary Vermont chose Nikki Haley. I often hear people say VT is a deep blue state, yet we keep electing a Republican governor. If you search most popular governors you will find Phil Scott is the most popular governor for the 12th quarter with a 72% approval rating.

I just looked it up & while Winooski is a fairly small town approximately 13-20% are immigrants (census site is “under maintenance” so had to use other sources). They seem to be one of those towns that embraced immigration/refugee resettlement as a means for addressing falling population woes.

For reference, Winooski is not a small town in Vermont. It is a big town. I would call it a small city. Compared to Boston, yes, its small. But a small town in Vermont consists of one, maybe two corner stores, only one has really expensive gas, and may or may not have a blinking stoplight.

CBP has daily quotas to make and I would not be surprise to hear that there is some monetary reward structure for meeting them. We already know they have used schools as a source of data for locating adults. This is a big refugee resettlement area with a majority-minority student population.
