Roughly one third. The biggest spike under Trump for ICE detentions of those arrested in the interior has been among those with no prior criminal history, but those with at least one prior conviction (of any kind, no matter how minor) remain the largest group. By next month that may change.

Have you heard anything about undocumented victims of sex crimes being targeted if they filed a report in the past? SWIM was assaulted shortly after arriving in NYC. She went to the police and did a rape kit. Her lawyer suspects those records were how she was IDed in the first place.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Of that 277,000, ICE reports that 191,000 were “released to remove” (so deported). The rest were mostly released. A few thousand transferred to criminal custody. And no, detention centers are NOT the ones making any decisions about who is held there. That’s all ICE.
That is the end-of-May meeting where Stephen Miller brought every ICE Field Office Director into a room and screamed at them to start rounding people up at Home Depot and to stop focusing on people with criminal records. The Los Angeles raids started a couple weeks later.
I highly recommend Jean Guerrero's biography of Miller, "Hatemonger", for anyone interested. He is grotesque. Acquisitive, vengeful, ceaselessly laboring toward cruelty.
