From what I understand if every state goes nuclear, the Republicans were always going to win this fight by about 10 seats. So the solution was never gerrymandering to infinity, it is trying to win back certain voters.

The blue states can't, they (correctly) gave that power to independent commissions and not to the parties

Rules are irrelevant now, do it anyways. Ban republicans from office, force prohibitive requirements on rural voters, do whatever you can to rig the game against them so that they have no choice but to give up the fight
