Reform rages against the outcomes of neoliberalism while offering more neoliberalism as solutions, which, if elected, the public will soon discover. In that respect, they aren't that different from the current government.

There really should be something to call this movement. Can we please sit down and hammer out a post-neoliberalism doctrine? Perhaps a "OpenSourceLiberalism" "Lib-OS"

Maybe as a nation we need to go through the pain of Reform for them to be found out It’s nihilistic but when false prophets promise you something for nothing, those swayed by such need to find out that free lunches don’t exist We all suffer - but in the long term bored normality will recover

Don’t think it will in the US, at least not for a long time. I’m concerned the pain of Reform would be too acute and deeply detrimental to long term political function here.

If their appeal is broader than first thought it’s likely because Farage is 1) platformed more than any other leader & 2) is allowed to spread lies and misinformation with little robust challenge.

Farages popularity will be attributed to the frenzied daily podcasts desire for content and the pollsters trying to be relevant outside of their questionable relevance a week before elections -sigh

Doesn’t help when Labour are mimicking their policies? Why not just expose their weaknesses which are many. A liking for the US President, lying to the public about how leaving the EU was a good thing, a liking for the Tate brothers the list goes on…

Reform? like Trump was pre his election, are proto fascists. In power, they will not be like the current government. Just as Trump, it turns out, was not the same as Harris.

This quote is becoming so overused I shall henceforth refer to it as #pig2man “The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.” — George Orwell, Animal Farm

Popular with people with strong opinions about things they barely understand. In their world, Brexit would work if it was done properly, small boats can just be turned around to France, and public services would be fantastic without immigration. Would be nice/horrendous to see Farage own all that.
