Contemporary culture got us to the point where leaders are afraid to lead. In a sane and serious world a party leader, who is a leader because of a lifetime of hard work, would be able to say to voters "No, you are wrong and ignorant, you should sit down, shut up, listen and learn".

Somehow for example "servant leadership" became a thing. Which basically means: either we've put someone who is unqualified in charge, or the team does not have to do what the most qualified person believes is right. Or both, there is no other option here logically. But this is how we live now.
