“He was under age, crossed state lines and carried a weapon, but he wasn’t looking for trouble”
“He was under age, crossed state lines and carried a weapon, but he wasn’t looking for trouble”
He "crossed state lines" the day before the shooting, before the worst of the rioting started, to go to his regular job in Kenosha County & then spent the night at his best friend's house. It wasn't until the next day that Nick Smith asked them to help guard Car Source. /1
He crossed state lines specifically to carry a gun at a demonstration.
That is objectively false. The uncontested testimony at trial was he drove to Kenosha on the 24th for his regular job, like every workday, then spent the night at his best friend's house (the worst night of rioting) and wasn't asked to help guard Car Source until the 25th.

NPR is objectively wrong. We can all watch what he really said & read the transcript of what he really said. This is why primary sources are superior to secondary sources. bsky.app/profile/sgtw...
“It doesn’t matter that he went to a riot with a rifle he had a friend illegally purchase for him and that he killed 2 people. Who among us hasn’t played Billy Badass as a 17 yr old with an AR15?”
I think they were stupid to go, but if you're going to go to a riot, being armed is prudent. Grosskreutz testified he went to many protests/riots & always went armed. The night before an unarmed 71-year-old, Robert Cobb, got beaten unconscious for trying to stop rioters from burning a building. /n
He was a 17 yr old that crossed state lines to carry a rifle at a riot. “He wasn’t looking for trouble”
Next you’ll be telling me that hanging in a bar with white suprematists was just Kyle having a root beer float on his way to the prom.
He was presumably having a regular beer, which is legal in Wisconsin when accompanied by a parent (his mother was there). He didn't know who the PBs were. When he found out his attorney had brought them there for security & who they were, he fired his attorney.
I keep going back to this “he didn’t know the guys he flashed white power signs with” as if that makes it innocent.
In order for it to be nefarious he has to know it's a WS symbol. Otherwise, it's just the OK sign that people have used for a century and still use to indicate 🆗. Do you think Rittenhouse was well read & kept up with current events/politics? I don't. He doesn't seem particularly intelligent.
You’re putting in a lot of effort to defend a scumbag and his PB pals. Why?
I'm defending the facts about a prominent case that many people believe myths about. Myths propagated by an incompetent or biased media. Case in point, the NPR article you posted that is objectively wrong. I don't FEEL it's wrong, it's demonstrably wrong.
Too bad Kyle didn’t serve time for being part of a straw purchase of an AR-15.
The fact that neither Wisconsin or the Feds ever charge Rittenhouse or Dominick Black with a straw purchase, might indicate that it wasn't. Black was only charged with loaning him the gun on the day of the shooting, a charge that was dropped after the judge ruled Rittenhouse could legally possess it

He made the 👌 gesture, which for a century has meant 🆗. Only people deep in the weeds consider it a WS symbol.
“But the Nazis weren’t the only people to use the swaztika” “Here’s a picture of AOC and Hillary making the Nazi salute JUST LIKE ELON”
There really is nothing you won’t try to defend. 😆 www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncn...

That wasn't his testimony. NPR is incorrect. You can watch it yourself youtu.be/BEbcLqBE-ts?... or read the transcript. www.rev.com/transcripts/...
If I have to watch the scumbag testifying I prefer this attempt at an Academy Award… www.facebook.com/share/v/1CYp...
“But he had a job there too. So it doesn’t matter that he took the rifle he had his friend illegally buy for him from the friend’s home and went to a riot with it slung around his neck. Who among us hasn’t killed two people while playing Billy Badass as a 17 year old”
The rifle was not illegally purchased.
Your argument was he traveled to Kenosha on the 25th, from Antioch, with the intent of going to a riot. This was objectively false. Like I've said many times, I think he was stupid to go. That opinion of mine doesn't change that he lawfully defended himself.
He could have avoided confrontation by staying home and pretending to be a soldier playing call of duty
He could have. If he had asked my advice, that is what I would have recommended. It would have been nice if one of the adults at Car Source had taken a look at him and said, "go home kid."
