Nah I got here 1h30 before the riders and I could be pretty close to the road. I was at the bottom of rue Lepic tho, but definitely no need to be here 6h early

Yeah, 6 hours for 1st row at the barriers, 5 for 2nd row, 3 hours to get any spot at all where you can see.

We rocked up about 90 minutes before to a spot about half way up Lepic and while it wasn’t the best view could see the riders passing. Worth it for the atmosphere alone.

Yeah, I can‘t speak for Lepic, I was at the KOM point on top, and that was absolutely packed 3h before the riders arrived

When I lived there, I was able to see both the caravan and teams enter Paris, or the roll out in Versailles, then jump on a train in time to see them arrive on the Champs before the circuits started. Time wise, it’s probably not possible now, but it was so much fun. I think I’d stay at Lepic.
