Apart from transparency, does glass have any positive qualities? Normal glass, of course, not bullet-proof or unbreakable glass.

It’s a good electrical insulator. Used to be used for power, housing valves. Probably other electrickery

I love stained glass, which is made up of coloured glass, so I guess that’s a quality. And you can *cough* blow glass, so that is also cool. Yeah, maybe I am being too hard on it. Glass glasses for drinks were introduced in Versailles so you could tell what was in them. So that is also good.
